Meh-hi-co

After Eric and I got hitched we took off for a little honeymoon in Playa De Carmen, Mexico! Oh baby was it amazing. This was Eric's FIFTH trip to Mexico in the past 2 years and my FIRST in the past 21 years. Eric just loves his Mexicans and I can't blame him, I now love them too.
Warning: picture overload below

We arrived Monday afternoon after a long 7+ hours of traveling and hanging out in airports.
In the Houston airport ready to fly to Cancun
When we arrived and got all settled in, we were escorted to our room which was a dream come true! We had Googled the room and resort we were staying at, but you never actually think what you see is what you'll get, because let's be honest, they only show the best of the best to get you there, and then they let you down. But OOOHHH NO we got it all baby from the California king sized bed, to the bed side hot tub to the apples on the table. It was legit.

That night we walked the beautiful beached, checked out our resort, ate at a fabulous restaurant, and ordered room service. Did I mention that this was an ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT PEEPS?! Well it was. Meaning the amazing food, drinks, room-service, and all was FREE. FREEEEEEEE!!! Needless to say we ate a lot and took full advantage.

The hotel staff told us that every night at 9:45 pm they put on a little show of some sort. We decided to check it out our first night. Here is what we found
Ourselves getting bored of the show at times

Extremely buff women
It was fun, but not enough fun to ever go back

The next day we took full advantage of the pool, walked the beach, explored 5th avenue and bargained and haggled with some Mexicans so we could bring home a few souvenirs
(Eric did all this, not me since he's got all the Spanish down and is so suave and sexy. I just wandered around the store pretending not to be there)

Cute scary man on 5th avenue that we talked to for a while because he has family in CO. Small world

So fierce

A little Mexican restaurant we made a pit-stop at

The next day we spent ALLL day long traveling to and touring Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the world. It was a good 3 hour bus drive there and back, but it was well worth seeing those amazing ruins!
My new Mayan BFFs. They look thrilled to be my new besties

By the end of the tour I was hot, sweating more than I ever have my entire life, sticky and tired of walking around. Eric did a great job capturing my true feelings by the end of the day.

The last full day we were there, we decided to stick around the resort and take advantage of the sunshine.
Our sea turtle we built

By far the best thing offered to us on this trip was all of the food! We'd often order room service at 1 am and scarf it down while watching some TV and hanging out in bed. And let me tell you....it doesn't get much better than that!
We'll have two steaks, two cheeseburgers, and a cheesecake please :)

Now this is true love people

This was by far one of the best weeks of my life...hanging out in the sunshine and exploring Mexico with my best friend and now husband!

Needless to say, we were sad to go. We'll be back soon though, so don't you fret Mexico.

Love, The Smiths
