I'm Back!

It has officially been 364 days since I blogged, and I couldn't go a FULL YEAR without blogging! That would be shameful. So here I am. Let me share 5 things with you.

1.) I cannot wait to head home this Friday to spend Christmas with the family!
2.) I cannot wait to see my little sister get married for time and all eternity THIS Saturday! Crazy.
3.) I cannot wait to not work for 2 weeks straight (minus the not getting paid part)
4.) My New Years resolution is to be a better blogger because Eric and I have some exciting things happening in our lives that deserve to be shared!
5.) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

The Death of Me

This Independent Study class I am taking may be the death of me. So to save my life you should all take this quick 10 question survey for me so I can finish my final project.

I promise it will take 2 minutes flat. boom. done. Just like that!

It'd be the merriest thing you could ever do for me!

Thanks all.

Brrrr

I didn't lie when I say it's gonna be cold around here...

it was a whopping 10 degrees today!

My toes and fingers have thought about falling off multiple times today!

Thank goodness for hot cocoa....

and ski socks...

All fashion rules goes OUT the window when the weather falls below 20 degrees. It's a rule in and of itself. Didn't you know?
Well now you do.
Your welcome :)

See you on a warmer day!

News

Can you believe it is already December? DECEMBER PEOPLE?!
That's just craziness.

December means 10 things in my life...

1.) I have only one month left to finish my dreadful online class. Barf.
2.) It's going to be snowy and cold 98.9% of the time from now until who knows when
3.) My skin is dry and crackly no matter the amount of lotion I apply
4.) My toes are permanently frozen (Eric doesn't seem to like it when I stick them up his pajama pants to warm them up either. I don't see the problem with doing it. He does. hmm)
5.) Call me Casper. I am pale as a ghost (Coming across pictures of my tan bod makes me want to cry. Literally)
6.) I've got to get my body into skiing shape so I don't feel like a broken 90 year old woman the day after
7.) I get to wear my new sweaters I purchased for only $4.50 each at Old Navy (thank you Groupon and my amazing bargain shopping skills)
8.) It's almost Christmas. eek!
9.) I get to see my family again in only 29 days

and finally for the BIG number 10
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
.
10.) I only have 30 more days to snuggle with my hubby each and every night!!!

Why?

Well...I am headed back to Provo come January 2nd to finish my final and last semester of school!
Eric is staying in Colorado for his job. Long distance as a married couple anyone?
Yeah I know sounds thrilling dreadful right? It probably will be.
The weeks will be too long. The weekends will be too short.
But let me tell ya...it will all be worth it come April 19th when I walk across that stage as a BYU grad!

See all you Utah peeps in January!

Today

Waking up to 6 inches of this....

Caused me to stay in my sweatpants all day long and make things like this...

Let me introduce you to my newest pillow creation...the ruffler
Created by me out of large white t-shirts that were never going to be worn.

Gotta love snow days!

The Best Holiday Treat

Eric and I have discovered the most delicious and easy to make holiday treat that you are all going to want to make!!!
(thank you Dorff family for feeding us these gems at your wedding reception)

Trust us sweet tooth people, you won't be able to stop munching on these babies!

Step one:
Gather ingredients
(Rolos, square pretzels, and pecans)

Step two:
Preheat oven to 200 degrees fahrenheit

Step three:
Place pretzels on cookie sheet and one rolo on top of each pretzel

Step 4:
Place in oven for 4 minutes or until rolo is soft.

Step 5:
Remove from oven and place a pecan on each rolo. Gently press the pecan down

Step 6:
Let them stand or place in refrigerator until the rolo hardens a bit

Step 7:
INDULGE YOURSELF IN THE GOODNESS!

Enjoy my friends.
And don't weigh yourself after eating them all. Otherwise it will kill all the enjoyment!

Oh Christmas Tree

Cutting down a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving is a long standing Barber tradition.
We don't do fake in the Barber family. We are ALLLLL natural (wink wink)

This year we treated Beth, Ethan, Eric and Duncan to a little taste of the magic!

All the kids

Beth's tree was the winner...meaning she got to cut!

Grandma and her boys!

Love the gummy little smile!

The Whole Barber Gang!
The winner! (minus the dead branch on top. That was to mark the beaut so we could find her again.)

Yeah for the holiday season!
