Out like a lightbulb

As I sit here in bed writing this blog, my hubby is next to me sound asleep. Sleeping is a funny thing around our place these days. Once Eric hits the mattress, he is out like a lightbulb!
On the other hand, I toss and turn for a good hour or so before falling asleep. Lameo.

I must say though, his tired self gives me some good laughs. Examples

1.) I get home from Utah. He has purchased an Ipad. We discuss it. As I am talking to him and telling him my thoughts, I realize his breathing has changed. He's asleep. Cool hubs. Real cool.

2.) We are in bed. He says, "we should pray". I say, "your turn!". He agrees. "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this and that and so on...5 second pause of silence...in a mumbling whisper-like voice under his breath he says, "bless Mr. Nielson." Mr. Nielson?! Who in the world is that. We know no one by that name! I start to laugh. He wakes up. He laughs. We laugh together. I am now more awake from laughing so hard. He is once again out like a light bulb. I'm up for a good hour or so. Oh gosh, bless your soul Eric.
(Theory: He secretly reads Nie Nie's blog at work all day long)

3.) Tonight we were watching a movie. He falls asleep. I pause the movie and go get ready for bed. I come back. I move the bed slightly when getting back in. He says, "Ok I think I can handle that. I can probably just do it for you. Alright." Who is he talking to? Who knows. Pretty sure it's not me. I can only imagine what he is dreaming about.

Oh babe I sure do love you. Sometimes (99% of the time) you fall asleep on me. But I forgive you. You are such a hard worker and for that I am grateful. 5:15 AM comes early. 7:30 PM comes late. I know.

Thank you for making me laugh everyday. I love you.

Love, Mrs. Smith

  3. Too funny! I am sure there is a Mr. Nielson who appreciated his prayer!
