Labor WHAT?!

Labor Day!
Oh how I love the holidays. No work. All play. And boy did we play...in Washington DC!
On Saturday morning we packed up some stuff and took the "Bolt Bus" to Washington DC to visit my brother Michael and see the beautiful place. Man it is pretty. So pretty it's worth the 4+ hour bus ride.
{Thank you all you smartie-pants for getting me wifi basically anywhere, including this honkin' bus}

It seemed like never stopped while we were in DC. Every day we made the best of it by visiting several museums and monuments. My feet may have felt like poo and hurt like no other by the end of each day, but it was totally worth it.
{Could tennis shoes with jeans PLEASE become cool?! My Toms and flats just weren't cutting it.}
I think I'll let the pictures do most the talking on this one.

Union Station
 {prettiest bus stop I've ever seen}

National Archives
We couldn't take any pictures inside {sad day} but seeing the original Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration was amazing! Major learning of the day: their size
waayy bigger than I expected. I was thinking 9 x 11. Not so much.

Museum of Natural History

I think my diamond is comparable in size to that of the Hope Diamond. Good work hubs :)

China Town DC Style

Air and Space Museum

The Wright Brother's first airplane. Smart guys I tell ya

Hottie right?

American Art Museum
It was a big place. Maps needed

How did we do?

Second Round to China Town
"Eat First" Restaurant. Smart restaurant telling all the kids to eat first, and then...who knows what. Dessert?

RITAS! A new favorite of ours

It's "water-ice" with custard on the top and bottom. I had my doubts, but it is delicious!

Monuments at Night
{Night time is the ONLY way to go! It's cooler both weather wise and appearance wise}

The Apotheosis of George Washington on the Capitol Dome.

A little shout out to BRIGHAM! Thank you for educating all of us and making us brilliant

John Hancock

I told you it was beautiful. Hand painted walls and ceilings. Immaculate.

Original Supreme Court Room

Lady Liberty

Kabob Palace
{don't let the looks of the food fool you. It was yum-yum. Chicken and lamb kobobs. mm mmm good!}

Washington DC was overall amazing! If you are on the East Coast you MUST go.
It does NYC shame when it comes to cleanliness, the subway, and freebies
{loved not having to pay to get into not even one of these amazing museums and monuments}
Thank you Michael, John, Katie, and Mike for the amazing weekend adventures!
